Trevon Butler '17 was a standout for the Husson University men's basketball team from 2013-2016, playing forward for hall of fame member Warren Caruso '89, '08G, '18G. At the time of his induction Butler is one of the 11 players in school history to finish with over 1,500 career points and 500 career rebounds.
The two-time captain helped guide the Eagles to three North Atlantic Conference Championships and National Collegiate Athletics Association Division III National Tournament berths in 2013, 2014 and 2016 as well as a NAC runner-up finish in 2015. During his varsity career, the Eagles posted a record of 87-27.
Butler finished his career with 1,550 points, 202 assists, 627 rebounds, 158 steals and 18 blocks, while shooting 44.4 percent (511-1152) from the floor, 37.3 percent (132-354) from behind the 3-point arc and 79.0 percent (396-501) from the free throw line in 98 career games. Butler averaged 15.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game in his career.
At the time of his induction, the two-time NAC player of the year ranked in the top-10 in Husson men's basketball history in points (tenth), free throws made (fourth) and was also the co-record holder for most 3-point field goals made in a single game when he made nine against Colby College in 2016.
Upon his graduation from Husson, Butler accumulated numerous accolades throughout his career. He was selected to the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association All-State Team three times, earning first team honors in 2016. He was selected to the NAC all-conference first team three times, in addition to being named to the NAC all-tournament team three times, including being named NAC tournament MVP twice. Butler was also named to the D3Hoops.com All-Northeast Region First Team and the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division III All-Northeast District First Team during his career as well as earning the 2015-2016 Husson Del Merrill Male Athlete of the Year Award.
Butler is one of only three players in program history to be named conference player of the year twice, while also holding the distinction of being the first player in school history to be named to the NABC all-northeast first team.
Butler earned a bachelor of science in business administration with an emphasis in sport management from Husson in 2017.
A native of Waterbury, Connecticut, Butler attended Crosby High School.
