Led by hall of fame member John "JK" Kolasinski '84 and assisted by hall of fame member Frank Peckham '93 and Larry McDonald, the 1995 baseball team posted a 26-19 overall record, including a 12-1 mark at home, and 7-1 mark in Maine Athletic Conference play. The team won the MAC title and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics New England Championships en route to earning the program's third-ever berth into the NAIA national championship.
A total of five individual Husson University Sports Hall of Fame members helped comprise the 1995 squad, including Troy Martin '95, Sandy McCuaig '98, Mark Hreben '96, Bill Swift '95 and Roy Peary '98. The team was captained by Martin, Mike McBride '95 and Swift, and other team members include, Andy Boure '97, John Novak '96, Chris Hashey, Matt Alaimo '07, Jason Parks '97, John McCarty '97, Jeff Fogg '96, Justin Shaw, Tony Brigalli, Virgil Anderson '98, Jarrod Williams '97, John Butts '98, Jack Littlefield, Brett Brown '98, Ryan Snair, Eric Murray, Dan Parks '97, Gary Sibley '98, Mike Kirby '94 and Matt Mahar.
At the time of their induction, the 1995 team held the Husson single-season records for stolen bases (115) and was tied for shutouts pitched (eight). The squad at the time set school records for games played (45), at bats (1,403), runs (316), hits (440), doubles (72), triples (18), RBIs (266), total bases (614), walks (189), wins (26), and innings pitched (323.2)
Martin tied the single-game record for most stolen bases (four vs the University of Maine at Farmington on April 23) and had the second longest hitting streak (28) in school history. Swift became the first player in program history to hit for the cycle (at the University of Maine at Farmington on April 14).
At the time four players set or tied 10 single-season school records. McCuaig set the records for most at-bats (181), runs (51) and his mark of 35 stolen bases still stands at the time of their induction. Martin set marks for hits (69), doubles (13), RBIs (50), total bases (101) and tied the record for triples (5). McBride set the mark for walks (29). Brown set the mark for saves (3).
The season included a 10-game win streak the fifth longest in program history at the time of induction and 6-0 win over the University of Maine on April 18.
Eight players collected post season accolades - Martin earned NAIA All-American, All-NAIA Northeast Regional, NAIA All-New England, All-MAC honors and was named NAIA New England player of the year and MAC player of the year. Swift earned NAIA All-New England and All-MAC honors. Sandy McCuaig earned NAIA All-New England and All-MAC honors. McBride earned NAIA All-New England honors. Novak earned NAIA All-New England honors. Hreben earned NAIA All-New England and All-MAC honors. Fogg earned NAIA All-New England and All-MAC honors. Alaimo earned All-MAC honors and was named MAC rookie of the year. Perry earned All-MAC honors. Kolasinski was chosen as NAIA New England coach of the year and MAC coach of the year.
