Katie Nye '01 was a four-year letterwinner in women’s basketball from 1998-2001 and one of the best 3-point shooters in program history.

Nye tallied 1,325 points, 407 rebounds, 171 steals and 330 assists in 105 career games played for hall of fame member Kissy Walker '03G.

The All-American shooting guard helped guide the Braves to a Maine Athletic Conference Championship and berth into the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National Championship in 1999, a MAC regular-season title in 2000 and three MAC runner-Up finishes in 1998, 1999 and 2001.

 At the time of her induction, Nye ranked among the program's top-10 career leaders in points scored (third), 3-point field goals made (158, tied for third), 3-point field goal percentage (.377, third), free throw percentage (.788, fourth), scoring average (12.6, sixth), field goals made (476, seventh), assists (seventh) assists average (3.1, eighth).

As a freshman, she averaged 10.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game and scored the fourth most points (273) by a freshman at the time en route to earning MAC rookie of year and Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-Rookie Team honors.

In 1999, as a sophomore Nye set the Braves’ single-season marks for 3-point field goals made (50) and 3-point field goals attempts (128) at the time, while earning all-conference honors for the first time in her career.

As a junior, She averaged 17.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while shooting 41.0 percent (149-361) from the field, 38.7 percent (43-111) from behind the 3-point arc and 84.6 percent (88-104) from the free throw line and collected NAIA All-America honorable mention, MAC player of the year, all-conference, and all-state accolades.

Nye earned a bachelor of science in computer information systems from Husson in 2001.

A native of Newport, Maine, Nye attended Nokomis Regional High School.
