Donald “Twig” L. Meyers was a four-year letterwinner as a forward on the Husson men’s basketball team (1967-70) and a one-year letterwinner as an infielder on the Husson baseball team (1970).
In basketball, Meyers finished with 1,125 points (38th all-time). He averaged 12.8 points and 7.1 rebounds. He ranks in the top 25 in program career marks in free throws made (261), free throws attempted (404), and rebounds (624).
While starting 88 career games, Meyers was a part of 65 Husson victories under the guidance of Del Merrill and Bruce MacGregor.
A captain for the 1970 season, he helped guide the ‘70 team to the first NAIA national tournament in program history.
Meyers was tabbed a Degrasse Award winner in 1969.
In baseball - Meyers played in 11 games, while hitting .250 and stealing five bases.
During his one season on the diamond, Meyers helped his team to a 17-3 record, 8-0 in the conference, while also winning the NCC Championship.
