Sue Ann Allen ’97 was a standout floor general and facilitator for the Husson University women’s basketball program, playing point guard for hall of fame member Kissy Walker ‘03G from 1994-1997.

Allen finished her outstanding career with 1,036 points, 357 assists, 369 rebounds, 214 steals and 14 blocks, while shooting 40.6 (422-1039) percent from the floor and 57.2 (183-320) from the free throw line in 107 career games. She averaged 9.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game in her career.

At the time of her induction, Allen ranked among the program’s top-25 career leaders in points (14th), field goals made (tied for 10th), field goals attempted (eighth), assists (third), assists average (fourth), steals (ninth), steals average (tied for ninth) and games played (tied for seventh).

The senior captain was named to the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-State Second Team twice, in addition to being selected to the Maine Athletic Conference All-Conference team twice, earning first team honors in 1995-1996.

Off the court, Allen was awarded for her efforts in the classroom when she became the program’s second National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Academic All-American following the 1996-1997 season.

Husson won 74 games over her four-year career, capturing the MAC championship her sophomore and junior seasons and reaching the conference finals twice in addition to earning a pair of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National Tournament bids in 1994-1995 and 1995-1996.

Allen earned a bachelor of science in business teacher education from Husson in 1997.

A native of Corinth, Maine, Allen attended Central High School.
