David Chase '08 was a four-year member of the first modern-day Husson University football team, playing quarterback for coach Gabby Price from 2003-2006.
In 33 career games (27 starts), Chase completed 256-of-573 (44.7) passes for 3,450 yards with 31 passing touchdowns while averaging 104.5 yards per game and 6.0 yards per pass attempt.
Chase capped his career off as the owner of 34 different school records and entered the hall of fame ranked among the program's top-10 career leaders in pass completions (first), pass attempts (first), passing yards (first), passing touchdowns (first), pass completion percentage (sixth), pass efficiency (99.8, fourth), passing yards per game (first), average yards per completion (13.5, third), average yards per pass attempt (fourth), total offense yards (3,334, second), touchdowns responsible for (32, second), total offense per game (101.0, fifth) and total offense per play (5.22, seventh).
At the time of his induction, Chase held the single-season records for pass efficiency (126.3 in 2005), average yards per pass attempt (7.9 in 2005), average yards per completion (15.8 in 2005) and total offense per play (7.18 in 2005) while being the record-holder for the highest percentage of passes completed in a game (84.6 vs. Becker College in 2005), most passing yards gained per attempt in a game (17.7 vs. Becker College in 2005) and highest passing efficiency rating in a game (241.2 vs. SUNY Maritime in 2005).
The two-time captain helped Husson win 12 games during his four seasons, including the program's first ever victory over Southern Virginia University in 2004 and an upset triumph over National Collegiate Athletics Association Division I-A member La Salle University in 2006.
Chase earned a bachelor of science in physical education - non teching track from Husson in 2008.
A native of Sabattus, Maine, Chase attended Oak Hill High School.
