Jay Durfee ’96, ‘98 was a four-year letterwinner on the Husson men's golf team, playing for hall of fame member Bruce MacGregor from 1994-1997.

Durfee entered the hall of fame with a career scoring average of 83.67 over 21 rounds played with a career win-lose record of 264-141 (.652). He finished in the top-10 in eight-of-16 tournaments while adding three top-5 finishes.

The three-time Maine Athletic Conference First Team honoree helped lead the Braves to 88 wins over his four-year career with two MAC and one State of Maine Intercollegiate runner-up finishes while laying the groundwork in the rebuilding of the program back to its championship tradition.

After earning his bachelor of science in business administration from Husson in 1996, Durfee spent one seasons (1997-1998) as an assistant coach on coach MacGregor’s coaching staff while he was pursuing his degree in business teacher education.

During his time as an assistant coach for the Husson men's golf program, Durfee helped the Braves finished third in 1997-1998 MAC championship with a two-day score of 653.

Durfee earned a bachelor of science in business teacher education in 1998.

A native of Rockland, Massachusetts, Durfee attended Rockland Senior High School.
