Amy Dyer ‘95 was a two-sport athlete at Husson University, earning eight varsity letters from 1992-1995.

Regarded as one of the best sixth women in women’s basketball program history, Dyer finished her career with 531 points, 61 assists, 378 rebounds, 66 steals and 14 blocks, while shooting 50.2 percent (226-450) from the floor and 56.9 percent (78-137) from the free throw line in 105 career games played for hall of fame member Kissy Walker ‘03G. Dyer averaged 5.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.6 steals per game in her career.

The two-time captain helped the Braves post a 90-24 (.789) overall record, including a 31-7 (.816) mark in conference play. She contributed to two Western Maine Athletic Conference Championships in 1991-1992 and 1992-1993, one Maine Athletic Conference Championship in 1994-1995, one National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics District 5 title in 1992-1993 and two berths into the NAIA national championship in 1992-1993 and 1994-1995. Additionally, she helped the 1992-1993 earn a trip to the NAIA division II national championship Fabulous Final Four in Monmouth, Oregon, the longest postseason run of any athletics team in Husson University history - at the time of her induction.

Dyer was the ninth member of the 1993 women's basketball team - that was inducted into the hall of fame in 2011 as a team - to be inducted as an individual, joining Walker, assistant coach Sharron Siebert ’91, Vicki Mazerall '93, Kristi Wildman ‘93, Darci Collins ‘93, Steph Shaw ‘95, Tara Leavitt ’96 and Stacy Hafford ’95.

On the diamond, the 1994 MAC all-conference selection posted a .394 batting average with 63 hits, a home run, two doubles and three triples, in addition to 39 RBIs and 24 stolen bases in 80 career games as a pitcher/infielder for coaches Shannon Whiting ’86, ‘91G and Butch Arthers from 1992-1995. Additionally, Dyer showcased great plate discipline, recording 38 career walks and four strikeouts, while posting a .510 on-base percentage and a .488 slugging percentage.

Dyer also had a productive career inside the circle for Husson, posting a 1.80 earned run average in 54.1 innings, while tallying nine strikeouts and limiting opponents to a .265 batting average in 11 career appearances. She tossed eight complete games and two shutouts in 10 career starts to go along with a 7-1 win-loss record.

At the time of her induction, Dow ranked among the program's top-25 career pitching leaders in wins (tied for 16th), appearances (25th), games started (23rd), completed games (tied for 21st), shutouts (tied for 10th) and innings pitched (25th). She also ranked among the program’s top-25 batting/fielding career leaders in batting average (fourth), on-base percentage (third), stolen base percentage (.828, 17th), chances (359, 15th), putouts (318, 17th) and fielding percentage (.972, fourth).

The senior captain helped the Braves earn the program’s first-ever berth into the NAIA national championship tournament with an at-large bid in 1995. During her career, Husson posted an overall record of 87-47 (.649) with an 18-12 (.600) mark in conference play.

Dyer earned a bachelor of science in business administration with an emphasis in sport management from Husson in 1995.

A native of Belfast, Maine, Dyer attended Belfast Area High School.
