In four years as a women's basketball and softball player, Amanda Pomerleau '97 enjoyed one of the most successful multiple-sport careers in Husson University Athletics history, helping the Braves capture two conference titles, and three national tournament berths with a collective 153-99 (.607) overall record from 1994-1997.

An elite pitcher/hitter during one of the most successful eras in Husson softball history, Pomerleau appeared in 88 games with 77 starts, throwing 487.0 innings with a win-loss record of 53-26, 68 complete games, 21 shutouts and 500 strikeouts. She posted a career earned run average of 2.33 and a 1.17 walks and hits per inning pitched average, while striking out 7.19 batters per seven innings pitched. She held her opponents to a .198 average and recorded two saves. As a hitter she batted .345 with four homers, 86 RBI's, 106 hits, 107 runs scored, 17 doubles, seven triples and 27 walks in 120 games played for coach Shannon Whiting '86, '91G, coach Butch Arthers and coach Bob Ackley.

She capped her career off as the owner of 30 different school records and entered the hall of fame as the Eagles all-time career leader in pitching appearances, strikeouts, wins, shutouts, opponent batting average against, hits allowed per seven innings pitched (5.43), in addition to being ranked among the program's top-10 pitching career leaders in games started (second), innings pitched (second), complete games (second), strikeouts per seven innings pitched (second), saves (tied for second), walks and hits per inning pitched (third), earned run average (sixth). Pomerleau also ranked inside the top-25 for many notable career hitting statistics in Husson softball history.

As a freshman, Pomerleau helped the Braves set 22 school records en-route to being named the program's first-ever conference rookie of the year and Maine Athletic Intercollegiate Association for Women Rookie of the Year. She was also selected to the MAIAW all-state team.

Pomerleau posted her best season in a Husson uniform during her sophomore campaign. She  batted .336 with 44 hits, 37 runs scored, seven doubles, four homeruns and 36 RBI's, while posting a .473 slugging percentage and a .374 on-base percentage. In 27 appearances in the circle, she earned 19 wins and posted a 1.89 earned run average in 170.0 innings, while tallying 172 strikeouts.

Following that outstanding season, Pomerleau became the first player in program history to named conference player of the year.

During her four-year career on the Braves' diamond, Pomerleau set the program's single-season marks for strikeouts (172 in 1995), wins (19 in 1995), complete games (24 in 1995), pitching appearances (27 in 1995), games started (24 in 1995), innings pitched (170.0 in 1995), shutouts (nine in 1995), strikeouts per seven innings (7.97 in 1996) and walks plus hits per innings pitched (0.99 in 1997), in addition to the single-game for strikeouts with three different 13 strikeout performances in 1997.

At the time of her induction, Pomerleau still held the single-season records for strikeouts, wins, complete games and shutouts.

After Pomerleau no-hit the University of Maine at Presque Isle at home on April 27, 1994, she became the first pitcher to throw a perfect game in program history three days later against that same Owls squad.

The four-time All-Maine Athletic Conference selection helped guide the Braves to a single-season record 29 wins - at the time - and the program's first-ever berth into the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National Championship Tournament with at-large bid in 1995.

In women's basketball, Pomerleau was mostly known for being the "shooter" that the opposing teams had to game plan for during her time playing for hall of fame member Kissy Walker '03G.

She tallied 748 points, 254 rebounds, 156 assists, 122 steals and nine blocks in 107 career games played, while shooting 36.5 percent (271-for-743) from the floor, 34.2 percent (100-for-292) behind the 3-point arc and 76.8 (106-for-138) percent from the free throw line.

At the time of her induction, Pomerleau ranked among the program's top-25 career leaders in games played (tied for ninth), free throw percentage (tenth), 3-point field goals attempted (292, 11th) 3-point field goal percentage (11th) and 3-point field goals made (13th).

Pomerleau helped guide the Braves to a 73-37 overall record with two MAC regular-season titles, MAC championships and berths to the NAIA national championship tournament in 1995 and 1996.

Pomerleau earned a bachelor of science in business teacher education from Husson in 1997.

A native of Skowhegan, Maine, Pomerleau attended Skowhegan Area High School.
