Coached baseball and basketball from 1946 to 1947 while heattended Husson. "The lnkspots," as the varsity basketball team wascalled, and the junior varsity team, the "Commerce Penmen, earnedwinning records under Harris. After graduation in 1947 his firstcoaching job was at Maddison High School. While there he took fourof his teams to the Class B Tournament. In 1954 he moved toSkowhegan where as a high school coach, he took two teams to thestat tournament. He was the prinicipal at Williams High School inOakland and the Skowhegan Area High School.
