Robin LeClair Esty was a four-year letterwinner as a pitcher and infielder on the Husson softball team (1987-90) and a three-year letterwinner as a member of the Husson women’s soccer team (1987-89).
In softball - LeClair finished her career with .257 average, 38 hits, three home runs, 29 RBI, and 13 stolen bases. From the circle, she ended her time at Husson with a 2.62 ERA, 23 wins, 34 complete games, 83 strikeouts, and a .227 batting average for opponents all over 282 innings pitched.
LeClair Esty ranks first in stolen base percentage (1.000), third in lowest earned run average (2.62), third in lowest opponent batting average (.227), fifth in most complete games (34), and ninth in most innings pitched (282.0). In single-season records, she ranks first in lowest earned run average (0.81), lowest in opponent batting average (.157), and tied ninth in most shutouts (4).
A two year captain in ‘89 and ‘90, LeClair Esty was named NAIA All-District in 1989. She was also part of a combined no-hitter on April 12, 1990, at Westbrook. During the same season while playing the University of Farmington, LeClair Esty was one out away from pitching a perfect game her senior year for the Braves.
LeClair Esty earned a Bachelor of Science in business education from Husson in 1990.
LeClair Esty currently resides in Skowhegan, Maine, with her husband, Steven, daughter, Kady, and son, Colby. She is employed as a math teacher and coach at Skowhegan Area Middle School.
