Bob O’Keefe ’67 was a standout member of the Husson University men’s basketball program, playing forward for hall of fame member Del Merrill from 1965-1966 after transferring from the University of Maine.

Despite only playing in 47 career games due to a knee injury that costed him his senior season, O’Keefe finished his career with 808 points and 542 rebounds. Upon his graduation, O’Keefe ranked among the program’s top-25 career leaders in points (10th), field goals made (10th), free throws made (third), free throws percentage (second), rebounds (sixth) and games played (16th).

At the time of his induction, he remained ranked among the program’s top-25 career leaders in free throw percentage (18th).

O’Keefe was a force in the paint, racking up over 30 points in four separate games for the Braves, scoring a career high 36 points against University of Maine at Presque Isle (formally Aroostook State College) on January 22, 1966.

The lengthy O’Keefe led the team in points (17.4) and rebounds (10.8) per game in 1964-1965, and rebounds (12.3) per game in 1965-1966 while helping the Braves win 25 games during his two seasons.
