Shawn Smith '14, 16G, '23 was a four-year letterwinner for the Husson University baseball program as both a pitcher and outfielder for coach Jason Harvey '07 from 2010-2013, earning two all-conference selections.

In 153 career games, Smith batted .332 with 175 hits, nine home runs, 21 doubles, 15 triples, 117 RBI's, 56 walks and 48 stolen bases. On the mound, Smith appeared in six games, recording three saves, four strikeouts in seven innings with a 3.86 earned run average.

As a senior, Smith posted his best season in a Husson uniform, batting .417, with 63 hits, 30 runs, seven doubles, four home runs, eight triples, 45 RBI and 17 stolen bases. Additionally, Smith posted a .649 slugging percentage and a .474 on-base percentage while committing zero errors in 94 fielding opportunities.

That season, Smith earned North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year and All-New England honors from the Eastern College Athletic Conference, New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association and the American Baseball Coaches Association. Smith also became the first player in program history to be selected to play in the NEIBA senior all-star game and was named the 2012-2013 Husson Del Merrill Male Athlete of the Year.

One of only two three-year captains in program history, Smith helped Husson post a 97-74 overall record while winning a North Eastern Athletic Conference East Division regular-season title, NEAC east division championship and tournament championship in 2011 and earned an bid to the National Collegiate Athletics Association Division III National Tournament. Additionally, Husson captured the NAC championship in 2013 while making an appearance in the ECAC new england division III championship tournament.

Smith earned his bachelor of science in kinesiology from Husson in 2014, a master's degree in healthcare management in 2016, and a bachelor of science in nursing in 2023.

A native of Winterport, Maine, Smith attended Hampden Academy.
