Robert Campbell was a three-year letterwinner as a guard on the Husson men’s basketball team (1989-90, 1992).
After his three years at Husson, he played 95 career games and finished with 1,054 points, 319 rebounds, 384 assists, and 176 steals.
Campbell ranks second all-time in free throw percentage (.855), sixth in assists per game (4.0), seventh in steals per game (1.9), ninth in assists (384), and tenth in steals (176). In single-season records, he ranks seventh in assists (180), tied seventh in steals (81), and eighth in free throw percentage (.875).
Campbell played a big role in the historic 1989 Husson Men’s Basketball team by averaging 8 points per game on the team that went 35-3 and won the Western Maine Athletic Conference Championship and competed in the NAIA National Tournament.
Campbell was named All-Conference and won the Nelson Degrasse Award in 1990.
In 1989 and 1990, he was a key piece in the two Western Athletic Conference Championship victories. A captain in the 1992 season, Campbell guided the Husson men’s basketball team to the first and only national tournament win in program history.
Robert Campbell graduated from Husson College in 1992 with a degree in business management.
