A transfer from Hudson Valley Community College, Ed Dingo '73 pitched for hall of fame member Del Merrill '54, '85H from 1972-1973, serving as the ace for coach Merrill's final two seasons at the helm of the Husson baseball program. He helped the Braves post a two-year record of 24-13-2.

In 16 appearances on the mound, Dingo earned ten wins and posted a 1.05 earned run average in 119.1 innings, while tallying 172 strikeouts and limiting opponents to a .143 batting average. Dingo tossed 12 complete games and five shutouts in 15 career starts to go along with one save. Dingo averaged 12.94 strikeouts, 3.23 walks, 4.51 hits per nine innings in his career while posting a walks and hits per inning pitched average of 0.86.

Upon graduation, the southpaw ranked tied for second in saves, third in shutouts and strikeout to walk ratio (4.00), fourth in earn run average, games started, completed games, innings pitched, strikeouts, strikeouts and walks per nine innings, batting average against, and WHIP, sixth in winning percentage (.769), tied for sixth in wins, and eighth in appearances.

At the time of his induction - the 1973 Northeast Collegiate Conference All-Conference selection remained ranked among the program's top-25 career leaders in strikeouts, winning percentage, complete games, shutouts, earned run average, strikeouts and walks per nine innings, batting average against and walks and hits per inning pitched.

He posted one of the best pitching performances in program history as a senior, going 5-2 with a 0.59 earned run average in 61.1 innings while tallying 89 strikeouts and tossing seven complete games and four shutouts. Dingo's outstanding senior season helped lead the Braves to a NCC championship, the program’s first-ever National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics District 32 Championship and a berth into the NAIA national championship tournament.

Dingo recorded the program’s seventh no-hitter during his senior season against Saint Joseph’s College of Maine on April 19, 1973, while tying the program’s consecutive scoreless innings pitched record with 38.

Dingo earned a bachelor of science in business administration in from Husson in 1973.

A native of Amsterdam, New York, Dingo attended Amsterdam High School.
