A skilled playmaker and offensive threat, Adam Heaslewood ‘97 is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in Husson University men’s soccer history.

The four-time Maine Athletic Conference All-Conference first team honoree tallied 58 goals and 62 assists for 178 points off 306 shots with 16 game-winning goals in 70 career games played for coach Mitch Ellison from 1993-1996.

At the time of his induction, the three-time United Soccer Coaches (formerly known as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America) All-New England selection ranked among the program’s top-20 career leaders in points (fourth), points per game (2.62, sixth), goals (fifth), goals per game (0.85, sixth), game-winning goals (first), assists (third), assists per game (0.91, fourth), shots (sixth), shots per game (4.50, sixth) and games played (18th).

In addition to his three MAC player of the year awards (1993, 1994, 1995), the four-time Maine Soccer Coaches Association All-State pick earned MAC rookie of the year in 1993, becoming the first player in program history to win both awards in the same season and to be named conference player of the year three times.

He was a three-time National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-Northeast Region selection (1994, 1995 and 1996) and was picked to play in the MSCA senior all-star game in 1996. Heaslewood also garnered NAIA All-American accolades four times, earning honorable mention in 1993, 1994, 1995 and second team honors in 1996, becoming the second player in program history to be recognized higher than honorable mention and the first since fellow hall of fame member Gabe DeCastro earned first team honors in 1976.

Additionally, Heaslewood was also recognized by the United Soccer Coaches for his play on the pitch when he earned All-American second team honors in 1995 and 1996 to become the first student-athlete in program history to achieve this honor.

Heaslewood became the second player in program history to have his number retired when Husson University retired the men’s soccer jersey #7 on November 7, 1997.

The three-time captain helped the Braves post a 40-27-1 (.596) win-loss mark with a NAIA district 5 championship runner-up finish in 1993 and three MAC championship tournament appearances in 1994, 1995 and 1996 during his four-year stretch as a member of the men's soccer program.
