The first field hockey goalie and the second letterwinner in program history to be inducted into the Husson University Sports Hall of Fame, Kelly Bocchino '09 posted a 2.22 goals-against average with 11.1 shutouts and a 31-31 record in 63 career games played. She registered a .776 save percentage with 462 stops in 4,187:42 minutes between the posts, while starting every game she played in except for one for coach Sharron Tracy rom 2004-2007.
As a senior, she helped lead the Eagles to a program record 12-5 overall mark - at the time - and a 7-1 mark in North Atlantic Conference play en route to the program’s first-ever NAC regular-season title and NAC championship final appearance. During her senior campaign, Bocchino set the program’s single-season record for wins by a keeper with 12 and held it for 10 years.
Bocchino was selected to a pair of All-Conference teams in 2006 as an honorable mention honoree and to the second team in 2007.
At the time of her induction, she was one of two goalkeepers in program history to wear the “C” when she was selected as a captain her senior season.
At the time of her induction, Bocchino ranked as the Eagles’ all-time career leader in goalie games played, goalie games started, goalie minutes played, saves, wins, and shutouts.
While earning her master’s degree, she served as an assistant coach with the Husson field hockey team in 2008.
Bocchino earned a bachelor of science in accounting and a master's of science in business administration from Husson in 2009.
A native of Waterville, Maine, Bocchino attended Erskine Academy.
