VISION

The sports medicine staff at Husson University is responsible for the healthcare of over 500 student-athletes participating in one of the 22 varsity sports offered at Husson. The sports medicine staff consists of our team physicians, four full-time certified athletic trainers (ATC),  one part-time ATC, as well as two athletic training assistants who will cover all practices and home events. The sports medicine staff focuses on the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for all intercollegiate student-athletes. When a student-athlete is injured, we work to ensure a proper diagnosis and treatment plan, appropriate specialty referrals, and communication with the athlete and their coach to secure a complete and prompt recovery to competition.

All student-athletes must complete the Husson pre-participation physical (provided above) within six months of the first day of participation and provide their sickle cell trait results along with completing a detailed health history record and other forms for the sports medicine department. All forms must be properly completed for participation in athletics at Husson University.
