The 2009 Husson University baseball team paved the way for what the program has become today. Winning the first two NCAA tournament games in program history, the 2009 team finished 33-14 overall with a 13-3 record in the North Atlantic Conference.

The Eagles eclipsed the 30-win plateau for the first time in program history on their way to recording the second-longest winning streak in program history with 13-straight wins.

Under head coach Jason Harvey, Husson set program single-season records for games played (47), at-bats (1,551), runs scored (370), hits (464), doubles (96), RBIs (316), walks (197), strikeouts (271) and tied the record for home runs with 28.

The 2009 team featured two future hall of fame selections at the time of its induction in Ethan Guerette (2018) and Nate Adams (2022), as well as the NAC player of the year, Nick Arthers, rookie of the year, Kyle Vanidestine, and five all-conference selections in Arthers, Vanidestine, Chris Maguire, Ethan Guerette and Adams.

Arthers went on to earn all-tournament team honors, joining Ryan Arsenault, and Tom Crews — who won tournament most valuable player. Artherswould also be selected to the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association All-New England team.

The 2009 team beat Vermont State University Castleton 7-6 in the NAC championship, earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Eagles fell to the University of Southern Maine 5-4 in 10 innings before defeating Westfield State University 10-3 and Babson College 10-6 to advance to the third round against Eastern Connecticut State University, ending their historic season.
