Katy Calligan ‘02 is regarded as one of the best forwards in Husson University women’s soccer program history, playing for hall of fame member Keith Bosley from 1998-2001.

Calligan netted 34 goals and 40 assists for 108 points off 294 shots with 11 game-winning tallies in 67 career games played. She averaged 0.51 goals, 0.60 assists, 1.61 points and 4.39 shots per game in her career.

At the end of her soccer career - the four-time Maine Athletic Conference All-Conference selection was the program’s all-time career leader in goals, points, assists, shots, assists per game, games played and game-winning goals while holding the program’s single-season records for assists (15 in 1999), assists per game (0.83 in 1999) and game-winning goals (six in 2000).

At the time of her induction - Calligan ranked among the program's top-10 career leaders in goals (seventh), goals per game (tied for sixth), assists (first), assists per game (first), points (tied for third), points per game (fifth), shots (third), shots per game (second) and game-winning goals (tied for second). She also held the single-season records for assists, assists per game and game-winning goals.

In addition, Calligan was the first student-athlete in program history to earn four all-conference honors while becoming the first player in school history to surpass the career 100-point mark.

The two-time captain helped the Braves post a 37-29-3 (.558) win-loss mark with three MAC championship tournament appearances during her four-year stretch as a member of the women's soccer program. She also helped the 1999 team earn double-digit victories for first time in school history with a program record 12 wins at the time en route to the program’s first-ever winning campaign in the program’s 10-year history as a varsity sport. The season also included the program’s first-ever postseason win, a 1-0 home shutout victory over Thomas College.

Calligan earned a bachelor of science in nursing from Husson in 2002.

A native of Hermon, Maine, Calligan attended Hermon High School.
