A transfer from the University of Maine, Kylan Smith, DPT '11, '13G was a three-year letterwinner from 2007-2009 as a midfielder and is regarded as one of the best two-way players in Husson University women’s soccer history.
The 2009 North Atlantic Conference Tournament MVP started all 62 games of her Husson career as a member of the defensive unit for hall of fame member Keith Bosley. Serving as team captain her senior year and helping the Eagles post a 45-18-1 record. Smith helped the Eagles win the NAC regular-season championship her junior year, posting a 16-5 record overall and a 7-0 mark in conference play. That same year, Husson recorded the program’s first-ever National Collegiate Athletics Association Division III National Tournament win, with a 2-0 victory over Norwich University in the first round.
Smith was a two-time All-NAC honoree, earning second team accolades as a senior when she led a Husson defense which yielded just 23 goals in 21 matches - the ninth-lowest single-season total in program history. She was also a two-time NAC all-tournament and all-academic honoree.
On the field, Smith was a rock as a defensive midfielder for the Eagles, while also recording seven goals and six assists over her career, including five goals and two assists as a senior.
During Smith's three years, Husson earned a spot in the NAC tournament three times, won three conference championship and made three NCAA division III tournament appearances.
Smith earned a bachelor of science in kinesiology from Husson in 2011 and a doctorate of physical therapy in 2013.
A native of Presque Isle, Maine, Smith attended Presque Isle High School.
