A true icon in Husson University football history, coach Gabby Price spent 12 seasons as head coach for the Eagles, recording a program-best 72 wins at the time of his induction.

Price’s teams won five-consecutive Eastern Collegiate Football Conference Titles from 2014-2018, while Price was named coach of the year in four of those five seasons.

Under Price’s leadership, the Eagles won 47 games in the ECFC and defeating Springfield College 23-21 in 2017 for their first ever NCAA playoff victory.

In 117 career games as head coach, Price coached 15 All-Americans, three conference offensive player of the year selections, five conference defensive player of the year recipients, three conference offensive lineman of the year winners, one conference special teams’ player of the year and one conference rookie of the year.

Additionally, Price worked alongside 74 all-conference selections and mentored 73 all-academic team honorees.

In his 12 years roaming the sideline, Price had three players that finished as finalist for the Cliff Harris Award — The top small college national defensive player of the year — and one Gagliardi Trophy Semifinalist, which recognizes the top DIII player in the country.

Price coached 15 New England Football Writers DII/DIII All-New England selections and one New England DII/DIII player of the year.

The 2017 New England DII/DIII coach of the year finished the season with a school-record 10 wins and ranked inside the top 25 in the nation by both the American Football Coaches Association and D3football.com.

However, Price’s legacy followed him off the gridiron, as he served as Husson’s director of athletics from 2003-2008, owned many successful businesses in the Bangor area, and coached Bangor High School football from 1976-1985 and 1992-2000 winning two state championships in 1979 and 1981. Additionally, Price served as a leader and positive influence of many athletes, coaches and community members throughout his years of service and molded many young men and women into the successful adults they are today.

A native of Bangor, Maine, Price attended Bangor High School.
