The 2013 Husson University softball team set the standard for what the program has become today. Winning the first NCAA tournament game in program history, the team finished 32-12-1 overall with a 15-1 record in the North Atlantic Conference.
The Eagles eclipsed the 30-win plateau for the second-straight season, posting an impressive 16-0 record at home and two separate nine-game winning streaks.
Under Head Coach Amanda Bourgoin, a Husson Hall of Famer, the 2013 squad included four individuals who have since been inducted into the school's Hall of Fame: Aimee Mortensen Price in 2019, Lona Sargent in 2022, Kayla Merrill Beers in 2023, and Lyndsay Merrill in 2025.
At the time of its induction, the 2013 team ranks fifth all-time in runs scored, third in hits, fifth in runs batted in, sixth in total bases, fourth in stolen bases and third in program wins in a season.
The 2013 team featured five NAC All-Conference selections in Aimee Mortensen, Lona Sargent, Victoria Overlock, Amanda Ryan and Courtney Hill. Becca McCarty was crowned NAC tournament Most Valuable Player, while McCarty, Heidi Shaw, and Ryan all earned All-Tournament Team honors.
The Eagles beat Vermont State University Castleton 2-0 and 6-0 in the NAC championship to earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. After falling 1-0 to No. 10 Rowan University in their opening game, Husson beat Bridgewater State University 1-0 in its second game – earning the first NCAA tournament win in program history – advancing to the second day before their historic run ended with a 2-1 loss to Springfield College.
