A two-sport standout for the Husson field hockey and softball programs, Dawn Doucette '01 claimed numerous accolades during her collegiate career from 1998-2001.
In field hockey, she was a member of the very first field hockey team in 1997 and led the team to winning records in three out of her four years, playing for coach Dee-Dee Kililea and coach Ruth Fitzpatrick.
She earned All-Maine Athletic Conference honors in 1999 and 2000, including MAC player of the year accolades in 1999 to become the first player in program history to achieve this honor.
In 33 career games played, the two-time captain scored 20 goals and tallied 20 assists for 60 points, including six game-winning goals.
At the time of her induction, Doucette ranked among the program's top-10 career leaders in assists (third), game-winning goals (seventh), points (eighth) and goals (10th).
Doucette was the first field hockey player to be inducted into the Husson University Sports Hall of Fame.
In softball, Doucette posted a .316 batting average in 94 career games played for coach Bob Ackley and coach Randy Dodge '02 with 94 hits, 82 runs scored, 13 doubles and four triples, in addition to 43 RBIs. Additionally, Doucette showcased great plate discipline, recording 50 career walks and 31 strikeouts, while posting a .424 on-base percentage and a .404 slugging percentage.
At the time of her induction, Doucette ranked among the program's top-25 career leaders in at-bats (24th), runs scored (18th), hits (24th), triples (tied for 20th), walks (ninth) and stolen bases (24, tied for 22nd).
As a freshman, the two-time captain posted her best season in a Husson uniform with a .380 batting average, 38 hits, 29 runs, five doubles, a triple, 19 RBIs, seven stolen bases, a .450 slugging percentage and a .466 on-base percentage.
Following the season, Doucette earned MAC all-conference first team honors.
Doucette earned a bachelor of science in business from Husson in 2001.
A native of Oakland, Maine, Doucette attended Messalonskee High School.
