The first swimmer to enter the Husson University Sports Hall of Fame, Lara Sarett '19 competed in 110 individual events after transferring from the University of Maine, recording 66 victories and 14 runner-up performances from 2016-2018.

Following the completion of her senior year, Sarett owned five of the Eagles' 22 individual records and took part in four out of the five Husson team-record relays. Sarett entered the hall of fame as the school-record holder in the 50-yard breaststroke, 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke, 50-yard freestyle and the 50-yard butterfly.

Having won at least one event in each of her three years at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship, Sarett was the first swimmer in program history to capture three conference individual event titles in a single championship meet — Sarett won five individual events and set the GNAC championship record in the 100-yard breaststroke as a sophomore.

The six-time All-GNAC honoree was the first woman from Husson to win a New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association title, winning the 200-yard breaststroke in 2017 with a school-record time of 2:26.26.

Eight times during her career she earned All-New England status at the NEISDA championships and was the first Husson swimmer to compete and place in the top-16 at an Eastern College Athletic Conference Open Swimming & Diving Championship meet.

In addition, Sarett was the first swimmer or diver from either the men's or women's programs to earn a conference weekly award.

Sarett, a two-time Eagle Award winner was selected to the GNAC all-sportsmanship team following her junior season.

Additionally, Sarett was a three-year member of the Husson outdoor track & field program from 2016-2018. She helped the Eagles capture the 2018 North Atlantic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship and was a member of the 2016 All-NAC 4x400 meter relay team.

Sarett earned a bachelor of science in criminal justice from Husson in 2019.

A native of Smithtown, New York, Sarett attended Smithtown High School West.

Sarett spent one year as a portal officer in Hallowell, Maine, before leaving for Oklahoma to pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer and will be inducted posthumously following her death on May 15, 2022.
