Stacey Hafford ‘95 was a three-year member of the Husson University women’s basketball program from 1993-1995, playing for hall of fame member Kissy Walker ‘03G after transferring from Thomas College.

After red shirting for the 1992-1993 season due to National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics transfer rules, Hafford finished her Husson career with 675 points, 120 assists, 202 rebounds, 65 steals, and nine blocks, while shooting 41.8 percent (253-605) from the floor, 31.2 percent (29-93) from the 3-point arc and 68.6 percent from the free throw line in 54 career games. She averaged 12.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game in her career at Husson.

Hafford joined the “career” 1000-point club as a member of the Husson women’s basketball program. In her two seasons (1991-1992) at Thomas, Hafford scored 419 points and grabbed 174 rebounds to finish her 4-year collegiate career with 1,107 points and 376 rebounds in 89 career games. She averaged 12.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in her career with the Braves and the Terriers.

At the time of her induction, Hafford ranked among the program’s top-25 career leaders in scoring average (10th), free throws made (22nd), free throws attempted (23rd), free throw percentage (13th) and assists average (tied for 16th).

The two-year captain helped the Braves post a 69-19 (.779) overall record, including a 23-7 (.767) mark in conference play. She contributed to one Western Maine Athletic Conference Championship in 1992-1993, one Maine Athletic Conference Championships in 1994-1995, one NAIA district 5 title in 1992-1993 and two berths into the NAIA national championship in 1992-1993 and 1994-1995. Additionally, she helped the 1992-1993 team earn a trip to the NAIA division II national championship Fabulous Final Four in Monmouth, Oregon, the longest postseason run of any athletics team in Husson University history - at the time of her induction.

Hafford was the fifth member of the 1993 women's basketball team - that was inducted into the hall of fame in 2011 as a team - to be inducted as an individual, joining Walker, assistant coach Sharron Siebert ’91, Vicki Mazerall '93, Kristi Wildman ‘93, Darci Collins ‘93, Steph Shaw ‘95, Amy Dyer ‘95 and Tara Leavitt ‘96.

Hafford earned a bachelor of science in business administration with an emphasis in management from Husson in 1995.

A native of Presque Isle, Maine, Hafford attended Presque Isle High School.
