Sabrina Vaillancourt '14 was a four-year letterwinner as a forward for the Husson University field hockey program, playing for coach Katie McCade and coach Jen Johnstone from 2010-2013, and is one of the greatest players to ever wear green and gold in program history.
The four-time All-North Atlantic Conference selection helped guide Husson to a 43-31 overall record, the best four-year mark in program history - at the time of her induction - with back-to-back NAC championships and National Collegiate Athletics Association Division III Championship tournament appearances in 2010 and 2011, in addition to the program's first NAC regular-season title and a runner-up finish in 2012.
In 73 career games played, Vaillancourt scored 68 goals and tallied 18 assists for 154 points off 342 shots, including 15 game-winning goals.
At the time of induction, Vaillancourt was the program's all-time career leader in goals, points, game-winning goals, shots on goal (231), shots per game (4.68), and shots on goal per game (3.16) and was ranked second in goals per game (0.93), third in points per game (2.11) and games played, sixth in assists and tenth in assists per game (0.25).
As a junior, Vaillancourt set new school records for goals in a game (five vs. Castleton State College, 2012) and a season (26) plus points in a season (57), en route to being named Husson's Clara Swan Female Athlete of the Year for the 2012-2013 school year.
Following her senior season, Vaillancourt became the first player in HU history to be selected to play in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Senior All-Star Game.
She was a three-time NFHCA All-New England region player, a four-time NAC all-tournament team pick, and was named the NAC rookie of the year in 2010.
Vaillancourt was the first Eagle in Husson field hockey history to be named All-American (2012, 2013) and to earn All-New England honors from NFHCA. She was one of two players in program history to achieve All-Conference honors all four years at the time of her induction.
Off the field, Vaillancourt was a member of three field hockey squads that were named NFHCA division III all-academic teams.
Vaillancourt earned a bachelor of science in business management from Husson in 2014.
Vailliancourt return to Husson in 2017 and served as Husson's head field hockey coach from 2017-2019. She lead the Eagles to a 25-28 record, including a 10-6 mark in conference play with two conference championships in 2017 and 2021 and one appearance in the NCAA division III national championship in 2017. Under her leadership, the Eagles earned a 1-0 upset victory over No. 4 Babson College on their home field in the first round of the 2017 NCAA division III national championship toruanment.
A native of Newport, Maine, Vaillancourt attended Nokomis Regional High School.
