Liza Doughty '00, '03 was a standout point guard and is considered to be one of the best all-around basketball players to play for hall of fame member Kissy Walker ‘03G because of her ability to score, play airtight defense, pass well and shoot from the outside.

Doughty, a four-year letterwinner from 1998-2001, finished her career with 1,082 points, 408 rebounds, 222 steals, 449 assists and seven blocks in 107 games played, while shooting 36.5 percent (360-985) from the floor, 34.8 percent (29-76) from behind the 3-point arc and 75.3 percent (250-332) from the free throw line. She averaged 10.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.1 steals per game in her career.

The 2001 Kodak All-American Honorable Mention selection entered the hall of fame as the program’s all-time career leader in assists and ranked second in assists average, eighth in steals, ninth in 3-point field goals made, three-point field goals attempted, and free throws made, tied for ninth in games played, tenth in 3-point field goal percentage and steals average, 15th in field goals attempted and free throws attempted, 16th in points and free throw percentage, tied for 21st in field goals made and 24th in rebounds.

At the time of her induction, the three-time all-conference selection held the third (144 in 2000) and fourth (132 in 1998) most assists in a single-season.

She was also a true leader for the women’s basketball program over her four-year career as evidenced by her serving as team captain as a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior. Doughty was the only player in program history to serve as team captain all four years at the time of her induction.

During her career, Husson posted a four-year record of 66-42 (.611) and captured one Maine Athletic Conference title in 1999, while leading the Braves to four-straight MAC championship games.

Doughty earned a bachelor of science in business administration with an emphasis in sports management from Husson in 2000 and a bachelor of science in nursing in 2003.

A native of Hermon, Maine, Doughty attended Hermon High School.
