Joey Melanson '00 was a four-year letterwinner on the Husson men's soccer team, playing forward for coach Mitch Ellisen from 1995-1998.
Melanson tallied 44 goals with 37 assists for 125 points off 181 shots in 64 career games played.
At the time of his induction - Melanson ranked among the progam's top-10 career leaders in goals (ninth), assists (sixth), points (125) and game-winning goals (seven, tied for eighth).
Melanson was named the Maine Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in 1996 and MAC player of the year in 1998. He was twice voted to the All-MAC team and to the 1997 United Soccer Coaches All New-England Region team and to the 1998 Maine Soccer Coaches Association All-State squad. In 1998, Melanson was named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-Northeast Region team while being selected to the 1998 Umbro Select Collegiate All-Star Team.
The 1998 NAIA All-American honorable mention honoree helped guide Husson to a MAC regular-season and tournament titles and berth into the the NAIA national championship tournament as a senior.
Melanson was an assistant coach for Husson for two seasons (1999-2000) and helped lead the Braves to a MAC regular-season and tournament titles and berth into the NAIA national championship in 1999.
Melanson earned a bachelor of science in business administration with a minor in sports and recreation management from Husson in 2000.
A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Melanson attended Marshfield High School in Massachusetts.
