Warren resigns as head women’s tennis coach

| By:

BANGOR, Maine – Husson University head women's tennis coach Josh Warren has announced his resignation from the position after 11 seasons at the helm.

Warren, who has been Husson's only women's tennis head coach since the program's inception in 2015, exits with an 85-31 record and a run of five-consecutive North Atlantic Conference Championships from 2018-2022.

"Having the opportunity to start the Husson women's tennis program from its inception in 2015 has been a true honor and privilege," said Warren. "The players are what make this program special, consistently exemplifying character, humility, drive and an open mind. I will deeply miss the unique role of supporting these student-athletes during such a transformative phase of their lives. While it was a difficult decision to move on from this amazing team, I am excited to step into my next chapter and venture deeper into the field of wellness. It brings me great comfort to know the team will be in excellent hands moving forward. Go HWT!"

A six-time NAC Coach of the Year winner, Warren helped the Eagles to five regular season and five tournament conference titles, in addition to making two NCAA Tournament appearances.

Warren guided three conference player of the year winners, two rookie of the year selections and four senior scholar athlete honorees during his time as head coach, in addition to coaching 30 NAC All-Conference Singles selections and 24 NAC All-Conference Doubles selections.

Off the court, Warren helped Husson obtain one Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honor, nine ITA Scholar Athletes and eight College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recipients.

During his 11 seasons, Warren led the Eagles to the NAC Tournament Championship match eight times, while finishing above .500 in every season and compiling a 44-10 record in conference matchups.

"Josh has been an integral part of Husson Athletics for more than a decade, and we are incredibly grateful for everything he has done to build our women's tennis program from the ground up," said Executive Director of Athletics Christopher Parsons. "Under his leadership, the program established itself as one of the premier teams in the North Atlantic Conference, achieving sustained success both on the court and in the classroom. More importantly, Josh created a culture centered on personal growth, academic achievement, and competitive excellence that has positively impacted countless student-athletes. We thank him for his dedication, commitment, and service to Husson University, and we wish him nothing but success as he begins this exciting new chapter in the wellness field."
