WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference announced its weekly awards for women's lacrosse on Monday and the Husson University women's lacrosse team earned three honors.
Senior Averi Baker earned her second player of the week honor of the year following a five-goal, three-assist performance against Thomas College in the NAC opener for the Eagles. Baker also contributed five draw controls, three caused turnovers and three ground balls for Husson.
Senior Laela Martinez earned her second-straight defensive player of the week selection after causing havoc on the defensive end of the field by recording seven caused turnovers. Additionally, Martinez added three draw control wins, three ground balls, one goal and two assists.
Freshman Lauren Small recorded her second rookie of the week selection this season after another solid game on defense that saw her tally three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
The Eagles return to action tomorrow evening at Boucher Field for a rematch of last year's NAC title game against Maine Maritime Academy, which is set to begin at 5 p.m.
