Women’s soccer adds Metcalf to 2026 recruiting class

BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's soccer team has added another piece to its 2026 recruiting class, as Maggie Metcalf will join the Eagles this coming season.

Metcalf joins the Eagles from Northport, Maine where she attended Belfast Area High School and played four years of varsity soccer.

In addition to her high school soccer career, Metcalf is also in the midst of her fourth season of club soccer with DSA United of the Maine Premier League.

Metcalf is a forward and midfielder who has earned KVAC All-Conference First Team honors the last two seasons, in addition to being named to the United Soccer Coaches Class B Regional All-Star Team this past season.

"I chose Husson because it felt like the perfect fit; I couldn't see myself choosing anywhere else," said Metcalf. "Husson has my major of interest, with small class sizes, along with the close-knit vibe of the women's soccer team, which really stood out to me from other schools. Plus, I've always wanted to follow in my mom's footsteps and get my master's degree from Husson, and I'm so excited to be starting that."

Off the field, Metcalf earned all-academic honors in 2025 and has also received honor roll in three out of four years, while being inducted into the National Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society.

"I would like to thank my coaches, friends, and family for the continued support that has allowed me to achieve my goals over the years," said Metcalf. "Soccer has been a part of my life since I was 7 years old, and I am incredibly grateful for every opportunity I've been given."

While at Husson, Metcalf plans to study criminal justice.
