BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's soccer team has added Alanna Nichols to its 2026 recruiting class, as announced on Monday.

Nichols comes to Husson from Kents Hill School in Kents Hill, Maine, where she has played varsity soccer for the past two seasons.

In addition to playing for Kents Hill during her junior and senior years, Nichols played her first two years of varsity soccer with Belfast Area High School, while also playing for DSA United of the Maine Premier League in club soccer.

Nichols was named rookie of the year in 2022, while also earning a KVAC All-Conference First Team selection her sophomore year, before receiving All-NEPSAC honors with Kents Hill in 2024 and 2025 and earning the team's MVP award both years.

Nichols helped Kents Hill to a MAISAD Conference Championship this past season, while also winning the Maine Coastal Summer Challenge and three Maine Premier League Championships with DSA United.

"I decided to go to Husson because I wanted to stay in Maine and I like the OT program Husson offers," said Nichols. "I also like how you are already accepted into the graduate program as a first year, in addition to the campus and the smaller class sizes."

Throughout her high school career, Nichols has recorded 72 goals and 12 assists as a forward, while also receiving the sportsmanship award during her final season with Kents Hill.

"I want to thank my family and friends for all their constant love and support, especially my parents, for all the time, money and energy they put in to help me pursue something I love," said Nichols. "Thank you to my brothers for showing me how to be tough on and off the field; they helped shape me into the soccer player I am."

While at Husson, Nichols plans to study healthcare administration & public health/occupational therapy.
