BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University softball team has revealed Cassidy Blaney as its next recruit in the class of 2026.
Blaney will join the Eagles from Enosburg Falls High School in Enosburg Falls, Vermont, where she is entering her fourth year of varsity softball for Enosburg Falls.
Blaney is a catcher who has played club softball for the Vermont Rockets 14U and the Vermont Rockets 18U for the past six seasons.
Individually, Blaney has captured a spot on the 2025 Burlington Free Press Top 25 Players to Watchlist, back-to-back First Team All-Lake Division selections, a 2023 St. Albans Messenger Rookie of the Year award and a 2023 All-Lake Division Honorable Mention spot.
Blaney has been a part of a D2 State Championship, two Summer Classic 18U Championships, an Al Colazzo Memorial Tournament Championship and an FPN NH Wildcats Summer Slam runner-up finish.
For Enosburg Falls, Blaney has posted a batting average of at least .325 for her first three seasons, including a .408 batting average, a .624 slugging percentage and a .596 on base percentage in her junior season.
"I am very thankful to continue my education and softball career at Husson University and can't wait to be part of the Eagle family," said Blaney.
Off the field, Blaney is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Technical Honors Society and has maintained a 3.85 GPA thus far in high school.
"I would like to give an enormous thank you to all of my coaches that have believed, pushed, and supported me through my journey of becoming a collegiate athlete, as well as my parents who have given me endless encouragement," said Blaney.
While at Husson, Blaney plans to study nursing.
