BANGOR, Maine – Bangor High School's 5'9 guard Avery Clark has committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Husson University, joining the Husson women's basketball program for the 2026–2027 season.
Husson Head Coach Kissy Walker is thrilled to add Clark to her roster. "I am extremely pleased that Avery has chosen to further her education and playing career at Husson," Walker said. "Avery is a terrific defender — she has quick hands and feet, plays every possession hard, and is always around the ball. Avery is also a tough matchup with her constant movement wearing down those defending against her."
During her junior season at Bangor High, Clark averaged 15.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. She was named to the Class AA North First Team All-Conference, showcasing her impact on both ends of the court.
Clark played for Coach Jay Kemble at Bangor and will play her senior season under Coach Kristen Hermanson, who praised Clark's energy and drive. "I'm excited for Avery's future at Husson," Hermanson said. "She will bring a fire that every coach and player wants on their team. She's a true competitor and will get after it on both ends of the court."
A versatile multi-sport athlete, Clark also excels on the Bangor girl's soccer team, where she was named Second Team All-Conference and selected to the Maine Soccer Coaches Class A All-Star Team, helping lead the Rams to a Class A state Championship.
In the off season, Avery worked on developing her game playing on the AAU circuit with Maine React, coached by Chris Cameron.
At Husson, Avery plans to major in Elementary Education.
