BANGOR, Maine – Medomak Valley High School senior Audrey Jackson has officially committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Husson University, joining the Eagles' women's basketball program.
Jackson played under Coach Lindsay Vinal for the Panthers, helping the team to a 15-6 season and a Class B South semifinal appearance. This season, Medomak Valley captured the regular season conference championship for the first time in nearly 40 years, a historic milestone for the program.
"Audrey is a very hard-working athlete, always trying to improve her game, "said coach Vinal. "One of her biggest strengths is her outside shooting – she can knock down shots in big situations. "
Jackson was named a KVAC Senior All-Star Honorable Mention and also lettered in soccer for two seasons.
Audrey played AAU basketball with MBC, Black Bear North, and most recently with the Southern Maine Sting, where she was coached by Mike Damon.
"Audrey is a high-IQ player who can play multiple positions." said coach Damon, "She has a positive attitude, gives maximum effort, and is coachable. Her work ethic and passion for the game are evident every time she steps on the court. She's a three-level scorer, a great teammate, and a personable young lady."
Audrey is active in the community helping out with peewee basketball.
Academically, she is a strong student and will enter Husson in the fall studying physical therapy.
