BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's basketball team is excited to announce the commitment of Jada Johnson, a talented 5'9 guard from Miami, Florida, to the team for the 2025-2026 season.

Johnson, from Miami Country Day School, brings a championship pedigree, having been an integral part of four state titles.

"It has been a pleasure to coach Jada Johnson for over six years," said Miami Country Day Head Coach Ochiel Swaby. "On the court, she is a strong three-point shooter who can shoot an elite percentage from the three-point line, as well as a playmaker. Jada has been an integral member of four state championships with our program. Besides her strong dedication to academics and basketball, Jada is very involved on campus. She is a great person and leader, who always has a smile on her face.  I know she will continue to do great things at the next level."

Jada also played AAU basketball for coach Kevin Gordon and the Gnation Suns 17U team, gaining national exposure while competing at a high level.

"We are thrilled Jada has chosen Husson University," said head women's basketball coach Kissy Walker. "Her experience and dedication have prepared her well for the demands of college basketball. She has competed at a high level, she has had excellent coaches, and Jada's strong physical play will bring toughness to our lineup."

Beyond basketball, Johnson is an exceptional student and a dedicated leader off the court.  She has participated in Student Government and Zoe's Dolls, an organization focused on empowering young girls.

At Husson, Johnson plans to major in Criminal Justice/Forensics, combining her academic ambition with her passion for service.
