Box Score BANGOR, Maine - Women's soccer earned their first result in seven meetings with a 1-1 draw vs. Bates on Tuesday night at Boucher Field. Husson is now 2-2-1 while Bates moves to 1-1-1.
It was a very even first half as both teams had three shots on goal with both goalkeepers answering the call. Best chance for the Eagles came in the 27th minute when the Bobcats turned it over and Charlotte Messer had a chance from the top of the box, but it was blocked away. The Bobcats went on the counter and thought they had scored, but Miranda Lewis was there to deflect the ball off the goal-line and keep the game scoreless after the first half.
After taking charge of the first ten minutes; the Eagles got the breakthrough in the 55th minute. A free kick taken by Edie Shea was gobbled by the Bates' keeper and Molly Ennis was there to score her second goal of the season.
Bates found the leveler in the 70th minute as Rachael Mello delivered a perfect through ball over the Eagles' defense and Elizabeth Patrick was on the end of the pass and scored.
The Eagles had the best chance of extra time as Natalie Aviolla took a free kick from 25 yards out and her shot was tipped over the bar by Kat Nuckols. Neither team could find the golden goal en route to the 1-1 draw.
The Eagles will head out on the road for the first time since the first of September when they travel to Waterville to take on Thomas College for a North Atlantic Conference fixture. Kickoff at Smith Field is set for 1 p.m.
