BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's soccer team has added Joss Parkinson, a JUCO transfer, to its 2026 recruiting class.
Parkinson comes to Husson from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, where she attended New College Doncaster, in addition to being a transfer student from Hawkeye Community College in Iowa.
Parkinson played two years on the women's soccer team for Hawkeye Community College as a centerback, where she helped the team to an Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Region Championship Runner-up finish in 2024, as the team lost in penalty kicks.
Additionally, Parkinson plays club soccer for Rossington Maine Ladies FC in the North East Regional Women's Football League in England, where she has played two years and won the SHWGL OA Shield Championship in 2023-24. Parkinson also has club experience with Doncaster Rovers Belles LFC in the Sheffield and Hallamshire Women and Girls League, where she played nine years.
"I joined Husson University because of the strong, competitive, and welcoming environment within the soccer program," said Parkinson. "The coaches and team have created a great culture, which is the ideal place for me to continue developing as a player. I am excited to be a part of the program and contribute in any way I can on the field."
With Hawkeye Community College, Parkinson was a four-time ICCAC Academic All-Region First Team selection and recorded two goals from the centerback position. Additionally, Parkinson is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and will graduate from Hawkeye Community College with high honors and will come to Husson with two years of eligibility remaining.
"I want to thank my parents for everything they have done to support me in achieving my dreams," said Parkinson. "I wouldn't be where I am today without them, and I am incredibly grateful for their constant support and dedication throughout my journey."
While at Husson, Parkinson plans to study video/film production.
