Eagles Shut Out Pilgrims 1-0, 200th Win in Program History

Henniker, NH – The Husson University women's soccer team beat New England College 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Eagles improve to 8-4-0 overall and 5-1-0 in North Atlantic Conference play while the Pilgrims fall to 9-5-0 overall and 2-2-0 in conference.

The match went scoreless until Taylor Fortin (Goffstown, NH) broke the 0-0 tie in the 57th minute of play. Fortin registered her third goal of the season.

Husson goalkeeper Jess Poulin (Albion, ME) made five saves in the match. Poulin improves to 7-2-0 on the season. Tricia Sardagnola made four saves on five shots in the contest.

This victory marks the 200th in program history and ties the longest winning streak since 2010 at six straight wins.

"We are so pleased with this win today," said Husson University head coach Carly Gettler. "We had a rough first half but were able to regroup and play a great second half. This puts us in a fantastic position moving forward in the league."

The Eagles return to the pitch on Wednesday as they play host to Bates for a 7:00pm non-conference match. This game marks the 450th game in program history.
