Box Score Bangor, ME - The Husson University Eagles
lost their opening game of the season, 20-15 to the Becker College
Hawks. After falling behind 2-0 early in the first half,
Rebecca Hatin scored the first Women's Lacrosse goal in school
history, with 23:57 left in the half. The whole first half
was back and forth, as Eagles' leading scorer Shelby Bradford had
five goals and Hawks' leading scorer Tammy Mullen had four goals en
route to a 9-9 halftime score.
With 15:44 left, and Becker on top 14-12, Mullen scored on an
unassisted goal. The Hawks would go on to score the next
three goals as they extended their lead to 18-12. Husson
pulled the game to within 4 with 8:15 left in the game, however the
Hawks would go on to score three out of the last four goals.
Mullen finished with nine goals and three assists to lead the
Hawks to victory. Nicole Lijana scored five goals and had an
assist for Becker. Morgan Hazen scored a hat trick and
Jennifer Ouellette added two goals in the winning effort.
Bradford led the Eagles with six goals and one assist.
Jami Ladd scored a hat trick for Husson and Ashley Cyr scored two
goals and had an assist. Tracie Cyr had two goals and Rachel
Swasey and Rebecca Hatin rounded out the scoring for Husson with a
goal apiece.
Husson University host Framingham State on Saturday, March 28 at
4:00 pm.
