BANGOR, Maine – Husson University head women's lacrosse coach Amanda Deshaies has announced her resignation from the post to pursue another coaching opportunity.
"Husson University will always hold a very special place in my heart," said Deshaies. "My connection to Husson began as a student-athlete, and having the opportunity to return as a coach and give back to a program that meant so much to me has been incredibly meaningful. I am extremely grateful for the experiences, relationships, and memories I have made during my time at Husson."
"I am incredibly proud of the success we have built within the program and the foundation that has been established for the future," continued Deshaies. "I am thankful to everyone who has supported me and the program throughout this journey, and I will always cherish the time I have spent at Husson. While it is difficult to say goodbye, I am excited for what lies ahead and will always be proud of my time as a Husson Eagle. I look forward to watching the continued success of Husson University women's lacrosse."
Deshaies has served as Husson's head women's lacrosse coach since June of 2022 and led the Eagles to their first two North Atlantic Conference championships in program history during the 2025 and 2026 seasons, in addition to making back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.
For her career at Husson, Deshaies compiled a record of 35-26, making her the winningest coach in Husson's abbreviated women's lacrosse history, as the 2018 and 2020 Husson graduate posted a 20-5 mark in North Atlantic Conference games during her tenure.
Deshaies was a one-time NAC coach of the year winner in 2023 and guided the Eagles to one NAC regular season conference title this past season, while coaching one conference player of the year, three conference rookie of the year winners, three conference defensive player of the year recipients and one conference senior scholar athlete in her four seasons as head coach.
Additionally, Deshaies coached 20 NAC All-Conference honorees on the field, while off the field she has mentored five Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Academic Honor Roll selections and five College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honorees.
"We would like to thank Amanda for her dedication and commitment to the Husson University women's lacrosse program during her time with the Eagles," said Executive Director of Athletics Christopher Parsons. "She has made a positive impact on our student-athletes and our department, and we are grateful for the time and energy she has invested in Husson. We wish her nothing but the best in her next opportunity and continued success in the future."
Deshaies will depart Husson on Sept. 14, and the Eagles will conduct a national search to find their next women's lacrosse head coach.
