BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University men's soccer team has announced the commitment of Tommaso Venghi from Verbania, Italy.
A center back, Venghi joins the Eagles after competing for Agrano Sportiva's first team in the Prima Categoria. During the most recent season, he was selected to the Top 11 of Matchday 29 for his performance with Agrano Sportiva.
Prior to his time with Agrano Sportiva, Venghi helped G.S. San Francesco earn a third-place finish at an international tournament in Rimini in 2022 and a first-place finish in the provincial Under-17 competition during the 2020-21 season.
Along with his accomplishments on the field, Venghi has successfully balanced his academic responsibilities while maintaining his commitment to soccer and personal training.
"I have maintained my academic responsibilities while balancing my commitment to soccer and personal training," said Venghi. "I take my studies seriously and have learned how to stay disciplined and organized while managing both school and sport."
Venghi chose Husson University because of the opportunity to continue his growth both academically and athletically.
"I chose Husson University because it represents an important opportunity for me to continue developing both academically and as a soccer player," he said. "I want to challenge myself in a new environment, improve my level on the field, grow as a person, and I also want to stay focus on my studies and be a great student. I am motivated to work hard, learn from my coaches and teammates."
Venghi also expressed his gratitude to his family for their support throughout his journey.
"I would like to sincerely thank my family for their constant love and support throughout this journey and in my life in general," he said. "They have always believed in me, supported my decisions, and stood by me in every moment, both in difficult times and in moments of success. Their encouragement has been a fundamental part of my growth as a player and as a person, and I am truly grateful for everything they have done for me."
