BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University men's soccer team has announced the commitment of Bernardo Vasconcelos of Lisbon, Portugal.
Vasconcelos joins the Eagles after competing for Grupo Sportivo de Carcavelos in the 1.ª Divisão Distrital de Lisboa Sub-19. A striker, he finished as the club's top scorer during the 2025-26 season and was a member of the championship-winning team in the 2.ª Divisão Distrital de Lisboa Sub-17 during the 2024-25 season.
In the classroom, Vasconcelos received two letters of recommendation from internship supervisors for his outstanding performance during professional internships completed as part of his Hospitality and Tourism studies.
"I chose Husson because, from the very beginning, I felt a sense of trust and confidence in the program, the coaches, and the environment around the team," said Vasconcelos. "I'm excited to join a competitive team and give everything I have for the program."
Vasconcelos also expressed his gratitude to those who have supported him throughout his journey.
"I would like to thank my mother for her unconditional support, encouragement, and sacrifices throughout my journey," he said. "She has always believed in me and motivated me to pursue my goals both on and off the field. I am truly grateful for everything she has done to help me achieve this opportunity."
