SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Husson University men's track & field team competed against top regional competition at the NCAA Division III New England Championships, hosted by Springfield College on May 1-2.
Husson was represented across multiple events over the two-day meet, highlighted by efforts in the sprints, hurdles, and field events.
In the 100 meters, junior Carmy Kaniki turned in a time of 11.19 seconds in the preliminary round, placing 26th overall against a deep field of competitors.
Kaniki also competed in the 400 meters, where he finished 25th overall with a time of 52.04 seconds.
In the hurdles, sophomore Matthew Scamman represented the Eagles in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 16.29 seconds in the preliminary round to place 27th overall.
Senior Christian Zapata competed in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing 26th overall with a time of 1:02.11.
Scamman also competed in the long jump, recording a mark of 4.31 meters to place 23rd overall.
The Eagles will look to build towards next season, as the 2026 outdoor season has come to an end.
