Men’s track & field opens up NAC championship meet

ORONO, Maine – The Husson University men's track & field team began participation in the North Atlantic Conference championship meet on Saturday at the University of Maine's New Balance Outdoor Track & Field Complex.

In the pole vault, freshman Parker Hunter led the Eagles with a height of 2.80 meters, while sophomore Ian Cottrell finished one spot behind with a height of 2.65 meters. Senior Lucas Fendl matched an identical height of 2.65 meters, while junior Thomas Hinton rounded out the Husson competitors with a height of 2.35 meters.

Junior Mykal Roberson paced Husson in the high jump with a fourth-place finish after a leap of 1.77 meters, while senior Christian Zapata also took part in the event and posted a height of 1.72 meters.

Senior Jaden Grazulis posted Husson's highest finish of the day in the hammer throw, as he placed third with a throw of 39.96 meters. Fellow seniors Max MacCallum and Kyle Hofmann also competed and recorded throws of 30.26 meters and 21.42 meters respectively.

The Eagles will conclude the NAC championships tomorrow with the second and final day of competition at the University of Maine.
