BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University softball team has added a commitment for its 2026 recruiting class from Old Town High School player Natalie Fournier.
Fournier resides in Old Town, Maine where she is in the midst of her fourth season on the varsity softball team with the Coyotes.
A shortstop and center fielder, Fournier has also played a total of five years of club softball with Milligans Landing 18U, where they won the Summerside Showdown, while she has been a part of two-consecutive Northern Maine Class B Runner-Up teams with Old Town.
Fournier was a Penobscot Valley Conference All-Conference First Team selection as a junior, while being named to the second team during her freshman and sophomore seasons, as she was also voted 92.9 The Ticket Softball Player of the Year last season.
Additionally, Fournier was selected to play in the Maine State All-Star Game as a junior, as she has totaled a .457 batting average for her career, recording 16 doubles, 13 triples and three home runs, in addition to driving in 47 runs and stealing 74 bases.
A dual-sport athlete, Fournier has also had a successful career with the Coyotes on the field hockey field, as she was a three-time PVC all-conference selection, a Maine Field Hockey Association All-State honoree during her final two seasons, as well as earning PVC player of the year this past season.
"I'm so excited and beyond grateful to continue my softball career at Husson University next year," said Fournier. "This sport has been something I've cherished since I was little, and I can't wait to continue playing."
Off the field, Fournier is a member of National Honor Society, in addition to receiving PVC All-Academic honors for field hockey and MFHA All-State Academic recognition, while also earning highest honors every year in high school.
"I would like to thank my coaches for the guidance they have provided me, along with my teammates for the continuous support and memories," said Fournier. "I would also like to thank my family and parents, especially my dad who has spent countless hours helping me become the player and person I am today."
While at Husson, Fournier plans to study nursing.
