Lang earns second-consecutive MCBSA pitcher of the week award

| By:

FARMINGTON, Maine – The Maine College Baseball and Softball Association announced its weekly award winners for softball on Tuesday and Husson University junior pitcher Ana Lang picked up another pitcher of the week selection.

Lang garnered her second-straight pitcher of the week award and third of the season for both the MCBSA and the North Atlantic Conference after she continued her dominance in the circle during a 4-1 week for No. 21 Husson, who saw its lone defeat come at the hands of Division I foe University of Maine. Lang posted a 2-1 record in the circle, in addition to adding a save, as she began her week with a five-inning no-hitter against the University of New England, as she totaled 13 strikeouts and surrendered just two walks and a hit by pitch as her only base-runners. In game two against UNE, Lang recorded the two-inning save and became the single-season record holder for Husson in saves, as she added five strikeouts and allowed no base runners.

Lang held strong against UMaine in a close 2-1 loss, as she recorded 11 strikeouts in six innings of work, allowing six hits, and just two earned runs. The veteran pitcher concluded her week with another dominant outing against the University of Maine at Farmington, where she pitched another complete-game and allowed just one earned run on four hits and one walk, striking out 12 hitters.

No. 20 Husson returns to play today when it heads to Thomas College for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
