BANGOR, Maine – The No. 21 Husson University softball team used timely hitting and dominant pitching to sweep a North Atlantic Conference doubleheader from the University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday afternoon at O'Keefe Field, earning a 7-1 win in game one and a 5-0 victory in game two.

The Eagles broke the game open in the fifth inning with three runs, all sparked by speed and execution. Husson added three more runs in the sixth inning. Casavant reached on an error to start the frame, and King followed with a single to put two on. Curtis laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance both runners before Tainter worked a walk to load the bases. Senior Lydia Rice then delivered a two-RBI single up the middle, scoring both Casavant and King, with both runs coming across as unearned. Watterson drew a walk to reload the bases, and Shook added her second RBI single of the game to score Tainter and extend the lead to 7-1.
In the circle, junior Ana Lang was dominant once again, tossing a complete game while allowing just one run on four hits and striking out 12 to pick up her 12th win of the season.
