WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference unveiled its weekly award winner for men's track & field on Tuesday and Husson University men's track & field junior Carmy Kaniki was selected as track athlete of the week.
Kaniki earns his second-consecutive track athlete of the week award following a record setting performance at the Maine State Meet on Saturday. Kaniki led the Eagles in the 100 meters with a fifth-place finish in 11.08 seconds, earning four team points and posting a DIII New England qualifying mark, in addition to breaking the mark of Robenson Saintard that was set eight years ago in the event.
Additionally, Kaniki also competed in the long jump and added a leap of 6.05 meters.
Also for Husson, senior Jaden Grazulis and freshman Gabriel Fairbrother were named to the weekly honor roll for their performances at the Maine State Meet.
The Eagles will look to build on their performances as the outdoor season continues next weekend with the North Atlantic Conference Championships set to take place on Saturday and Sunday on the campus of the University of Maine at Orono.
